Blast Cleaning

At STP Coatings we use blast cleaning in readiness for wet painting or powder coating. We carry out most of our work to Swedish standards and the guidelines set out by the paint manufacturers for the specified systems of our customers.

Blast cleaning is our preferred treatment of all metal types before coating but we are able to degrease more delicate items prior to coating. Blast Cleaning allows us to prepare substrates to recognised British , Swedish and American standards before any coatings are applied.

The following substrates can be treated due to the use of an inert grit which leaves the surface clean and free from contamination:

• Mild Steel
• Galvanised Steel
• Stainless Steel
• Aluminium
• Chrome Plating

Our 6m x 3m x 3m blast room accommodates a work envelope of 5m x 2m x 2m allowing us to clean large items from rust and millscale ready for coating. Following the blast cleaning standards and guidelines by the paint manufacturers we are able to give the best preparation for the paint systems that are being applied.
